The Community Gardens Program includes community educational courses, start-up support for new gardens, organizing volunteer labor support, and financial support for a Community Garden Coordinator that works with garden leaders to achieve overall success. 

Since 2020 Pueblo Food Project has established 18 community gardens or edible landscapes with partners. Over 30 garden education courses have been hosted to date covering garden basics, growing Pueblo Chile, putting the garden to bed, and much more! 1000s of pounds of produce have been grown and given to local food pantries through this program.

The produce grown at these gardens is made available to the public, either by direct donation to a food pantry, to the local Soup Kitchen or other food aid agency. Or home with the volunteers and stewards of the gardens, and they seldom leave empty-handed!

Edible landscapes convert traditionally landscaped spaces to bountiful gardens that grow food for the community! An edible landscape is like a garden, but in places you wouldn't expect to see food growing.

Each location is take care of by dedicated Master Gardeners with the Pueblo County CSU Extension Office! 

Edible landscapes show the community how easy it can be to grow your own food. The food that is grown in these public spaces is for anyone and everyone to enjoy! If you're just walking by take a bite, or visit weekly to grab some treasures.
